Not at all. Jiu Jitsu training naturally builds strength, cardio fitness, mobility, and coordination. We tailor drills and techniques to your level so you can progress safely at your own pace. Many of our members started with little to no fitness background.
If you don’t have a gi yet, you can wear comfortable gym clothes for your trial class. We recommend bringing a water bottle, flip-flops to wear off the mats, and a towel.
Yes, visitors are welcome to come and watch a class to get a feel for the atmosphere and teaching style before committing.
Yes, we offer a free trial class for all new students. This gives you the opportunity to meet our instructors, train with the team, and see if Jiu Jitsu is right for you.
Beginners usually start with 2–3 classes per week. This helps you retain techniques while giving your body time to adapt. As you gain experience, you may choose to train 4–6 times per week, depending on your goals.
Yes. We run kids’ programs designed for confidence, discipline, and fun, and adults’ classes for all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners. We also offer open mat sessions where members of all skill levels can practice freely.
Yes, when practiced responsibly. Safety is our top priority. Our instructors emphasize controlled training, correct technique, and respect for your training partners. Tapping out (submitting) is encouraged to prevent injuries.
No. Many students train purely for fitness, self-defense, and enjoyment. Competitions are completely optional. If you’re interested in competing, we provide coaching and structured training plans to help you prepare.
Not immediately. Once you decide to continue training, we recommend purchasing your own gi.
